Chicken Ship Privacy Policy

Chicken Ship ("the App", "we", "us") is a Shopify app that helps warehouse teams pack orders accurately and route them to the right box. This policy explains what data the App collects when a merchant installs it, how that data is used, and how it's handled when the App is uninstalled. It applies to merchants who install the App and to the staff they authorize to use it. It does not apply to a merchant's customers directly — the App does not collect any customer data at all (see below).

Information we collect

When a store installs the App, we collect and store:

• Shop information. Your store's.myshopify.com domain and the OAuth access token Shopify issues to the App, so it can make API calls on your behalf.
• Inventory data you create. The packaging types, box dimensions, supply quantities, and build-out ("pack") definitions you enter into the App.
• Order and fulfillment data, read at the time of packing. Order numbers, line items, product titles and images, and fulfillment order status, fetched live from Shopify's API to run the pack station. We don't keep a separate copy of your orders — we read what we need from Shopify at the moment a warehouse worker is packing that order.
• Basic technical logs. Standard web server logs (timestamps, IP address, requested URL) kept briefly for debugging and abuse prevention.

Information we do not collect

The App does not collect, store, or process any of your customers' personal information — no customer names, addresses, emails, phone numbers, or order history beyond what's needed transiently to display a packing list. We never see or store payment or credit card details.

How we use information

We use the information above only to:

• Operate the App's core features (pack station, cartonization, inventory tracking)
• Deduct packaging/supply stock automatically when a label is generated
• Diagnose bugs and keep the App running reliably

We do not sell data, use it for advertising, or share it with any third party other than Shopify itself (as required to operate the App) and the infrastructure providers that host it.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your store's data for as long as the App is installed. When you uninstall the App, Shopify notifies us and we remove your access token. Within the timeframe Shopify requires (currently within 48 hours of uninstall), we permanently delete your store's packaging items, supplies, packs, and product mappings in response to Shopify's mandatory shop/redact webhook. Because the App holds no customer personal data, there is nothing to return or redact in response to a customer data request — we still honor Shopify's customers/data_request and customers/redact webhooks, they simply confirm that no such data exists.

Security

Access tokens and other credentials are stored server-side and are never exposed to the browser. All traffic between your store, the App, and Shopify is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS.

Cookies

The App uses only the session cookies necessary to keep you signed in while using the embedded app inside Shopify admin. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies.

Children's privacy

The App is a business tool for Shopify merchants and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
